Moving to Las Vegas (or anywhere for that matter)?

Plastic Tote ExampleAs we have roughly 5000-7000 people moving to Las Vegas every month, the real estate market is not far from recovering, but how about the trauma incurred during the joyful moving process (sarcasm)? I know how stressful the whole moving experience can be and when I saw this great post on Moving Tips from our friends at Cool Tools, I could not resist writing about here.

Boxes are just fine and if you have to use them, by all means figure out how to create handles for you and your movers (errr…friends) to use and not crank the back all out of place. These makeshift handles they tell you how to make in this article is invaluable. I have never tried them, but since the wife and I are going to be moving soon, we will learn all about them.

The other VERY valuable piece of advice here is to use these plastic totes. We have them for storage and when not in use, they stack nicely in the attic or garage. They have great handles and can hold tons of stuff after you carefully wrap up those valuables.

I like the folks over at Cool Tools, they do a great job finding things I never thought I needed but sure enough want. For the declutterer in me, they try to help me get only the things I really need. For the real estate investor in me, I am always looking for ways to help clients make their lives better. Getting rid of clutter and organizing in such a way to make sure that next move is as painless as possible is also a very important part of the process.
